These are some of the most frequent questions we get. However, please feel free to contact us in case you have any questions not addressed here.
We will be happy to answer them!
– Be at least 18 years old.
– Have a clean criminal record. Certain criminal convictions may disqualify you from obtaining a license.
– Texas requires completion of a 40-hour pre-licensing course from a state-approved provider. This course covers fundamental insurance principles and regulations.
– After completing the pre-licensing education, you’ll need to pass the Texas Insurance Adjuster Exam. This is a computer-based test administered by a proctoring website.
– Once you pass the exam, you can apply for your license through the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) website or Sircon. You will need to provide personal information and exam results.
– You’ll need to get fingerprinted through a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) approved vendor. This is to complete a background check as part of the licensing process.
– Pay the required licensing fee of $50. Fees can be paid online during the application process.
– After obtaining your license, you’ll need to complete continuing education requirements to renew it. Texas requires 24 hours of CE every two years.
Remember to check the Texas Department of Insurance website for any updates or changes to the licensing process.
